Los Angeles County Museum on Fire by Ed Ruscha

One of my formative experiences with art was visiting the Los Angeles County Museum of Art as a young child. But to my mother's consternation, I eschewed often the works and programs of the museum for the woolly mammoths sinking into the black goo of the La Brea Tar Pits.

Thankfully, as an adult, I have learned to appreciate LACMA. Where else could I have spent my moody teenage years gazing at the Magdalen or more recently, have been schooled by the utter meticulousness and organization of Kubrick. See photo below.

So, it's a complete thrill to announce that KEPLER X-47 will be screened at the Bing Theatre (the very place where I spent many a Sunday snoring listening to chamber music) on Saturday, April 5th at 7 pm as a part of the 13th-Annual Young Directors Night at LACMA.

And the stately Elvis Mitchell will be there.
